PHIL HENSHALL STOCKROOM

“The space between things, the need to use a moving or unusual viewpoint and the need to express ideas are the pillars of my artistic practice. The challenge has been to present these using a two-dimensional and static canvas. I am in debt to William Robinson and Brett Whiteley. Their work s helped me resolve these problems. The process lead to the words “Aspective” and “Aspectivism”, which are now registered with I. P. Australia.”

Aspectivism:

  1. the manipulation of perspective in order to express the elapse of time and/or a moving viewpoint
  2. an aspect from an extreme or unusual viewpoint
