CLIVE SINCLAIR STOCKROOM

Born in Melbourne in 1951, Clive Sinclair began his formal art training in 1973 under the guidance of John Lennox and later studied tonal realism with Max Casey. His “Minimal Landscapes” have developed from his foundation in tonal realism and traditional techniques, allowing him to evoke a luminous quality in his work—capturing brief, transient moments of light. Clive’s landscapes embrace a fluid, gestural style that treats the landscape as an object viewed peripherally.

An award-winning artist, Clive was recognised as the winner of ‘Best Watercolour’ at the Chelsea Art Show in 2024. He has also exhibited numerous times at Quadrant Gallery in group exhibitions, including his 2023 joint exhibition with Hugh Foster, titled “Gentlemen of Washes”.
