Tony Jackson says:
‘What stands out about this work for me, is the strong architectural and theatrical elements.
There is a strong presentation of the beautiful bronze figure standing boldly in front of soaring architectural elements. The figure is gazing skywards, and I want to share his gaze into the unknown.
The drama of the Moroccan architecture behind the figure is wonderfully accurate in detail, with its tall chimney columns, small windows and indentations in the apparently mud brick surface, a beautiful patina has been achieved on the surface giving authenticity to the work. The shadows created by the geometry of the work give power to the forms and accentuate the scale against the bronze figure.
I feel that I can really walk into this sculpture and experience its weight, presence and form.
This work epitomizes much of Ross Miller’s inherent skills and his marvellous artistic eye.
The exhibition is current until Saturday, 29 March 2014.
