#22 ‘Machu Picchu 1’ (Bronze and Cement Fondue, Width 21cm x Height 48cm x Depth 21cm, $1200)
‘I have selected this work for its strength and delicacy. The strength displayed by the bold wedge shaped block is perfectly counterbalanced by the delicate architectural sculpture sitting on top of the block. The proportions of this work represent the strength of the earth along with the fragile yet enduring architecture which has been created by ancient civilizations. The combination of simplicity and complexity is beautifully balanced in this work – the intricate bronze sculpture sits on top of the bold simple cement fondue block like a beautiful adornment, the two parts complement and enhance each other. It’s timeless.’
The exhibition is current until Saturday, 29 March 2014.
