This work has been selected by the gallery as it is a wonderful showcase for Rachel Young’s expertise with enamelling and colour, as well as a typical example of Rachel’s continuing artistic theme of her observations when travelling around the regions of her home in Roxby Downs S.A.
This beautiful little picture has an interesting mix of mottled pinks, brown and blue with the ‘essence’ of a farm shed which is quintessentially Australian and a delight to observe.
The exhibition is current until Saturday 31 May 2014

Sally Darlison’s Roma is a fantastic work capturing the icons and essence of Rome, assembled in her typical quirky style which comes together as an intriguing and vibrant whole.
Darlison has an amazing talent for combining all of the essential elements which make Rome and the Italian ‘feel’ immediately obvious, and the work is a fascinating mix of photos, maps, hand dyed silk, machine embroidery, painting and printing.
While many of Darlison’s works employ rich, bright colours, this work is slightly more subdued to reflect the colours of the Italian architecture and landscape. However ‘Roma’ is a vibrant celebration of that city and its environs, and totally fascinating to view.
The exhibition is current until Saturday 31 May 2014
