This week's highlight of the week has been chosen by Tony Jackson, Director of Quadrant Design Architects.
This big moment for the little girl seems to have confused the butcher birds. They observe the chubby cheeked girl cautiously as she looks downwards with unknown thoughts- is she aware of the birds? Is she ignoring them or contemplating how to relate to these odd beings?
There is an "otherworldly" feel to this painting with the intense green and building forms taking ones eye back to the darkness of a narrow alley where emotions and energy can permeate. The stillness of this cute kid contrasts to the edginess of the birds- who is the trespasser here?
The exhibition is current until Saturday 3 May 2014
