 | Exhibition Highlight of the Week: Phil Henshall “The Pinnacles” (no 8, oil on canvas, $2,000). Henshall’s paintings of rock formations are among the most monumental works in the exhibition. He depicts “The Pinnacles” from a low vantage point and at a precarious angle to convey the vertiginous height of the rocks. The white foam of the crushing waves captures its mass and solidity. The energetic brushwork expresses the texture of its surfaces while the bold colouring bathes them in the luscious tones of the setting sun. On view at the gallery until Saturday, February 27.
