Kathy Fahey's work is concerned with a sense of 'place'. Her landscapes are depictions of places visited and remembered. This work is a personal response to the Australian landscape through colour, line, movement, and surface. The paintings are renderings of the artist sees as some of the most quintessential and powerful elements of the Australian landscape--the rich golds and yellows of parched grasslands, vast open skies, and the strange, bleached shapes of the eucalyptus trees.
